Nick is the Chief Executive of Development Intelligence and has been running companies in this field since 1994. After an eight year military career, he worked in the European Parliament and a public affairs consultancy in Brussels and London. He has run two of Development Intelligence’s main competitors, buying out the UK operations of one and rebranding it as Development Intelligence. He has worked on a wide variety of development projects: residential, retail, commercial, minerals and quarrying, energy (including nuclear, gas, oil, and wind), as well as hospitals, rail freight and waste. He has run political campaigns for development projects all over the UK and in the US, Germany and France.
Nick was until recently Vice-Chairman of the Retail and Entertainment Council of the Urban Land Institute. He has previously been a local authority councillor, sat on a planning committee for several years and has been a cabinet member. He’s been a member of the British Council of Shopping Centres, the International Council of Shopping Centres, the Minerals Products Association and the Nuclear Industry Association. He often speaks at conferences and events on the politics of the planning process and has regularly written articles for several national and trade publications.
